Top Photo Spot’s in Seoul: Haneul Park
Haneul Park, now filled with dancing silver grasses and views of the Han River, used to be a towering landfill in Western Seoul. A 98-meter high mountain of uncovered garbage until 1993, the Seoul Metropolitan Government decided to repurpose this eye sore and give it back to the community by turning it into an ecological park. This was a site in Seoul that I wanted to visit for such a long time before I was actually able to get there while the sun was still up. The tall, fall grasses make this park a top photo spot in Seoul.
Now, Haneul Park, part of the World Cup Park Complex, is well-known for the Silver Grass Festival held in October and as a popular spot to watch the sunrise on New Year’s morning. You do have to work a bit to get to the silver grasses and the viewpoints, 291 steps of work, but if you don’t feel like walking, you can take the tram to the top. At the top, you will find pathways to wander through the grasses and a variety of flower fields with pink and purple blooms.
Wouldn’t this be the perfect place for a family or couple’s photoshoot while in Seoul?
