Catarina & Yoamel: A Photoshoot Thru Hoi An’s Enchanting Streets

Have you ever visited Hoi An, Vietnam? If you have, how much did you love it? It’s one of my favorite places in Vietnam because of it’s beautifully colored buildings, narrow streets for wandering, and lanterns glowing on top of the river at night. It’s a city that has grown significantly since my first visit a few years ago and become increasingly popular for tourists. Even though there are many, many people on the streets, I still think it feels magical.

When I was there in April, I met up with Catarina and Yoamel to capture the couple amongst the colors of the Old Town. While they are both from different countries, Catarina and Yoamel first met in Vietnam, which made it feel like the perfect place to capture a piece of their story. We met up very early in morning so we could get our shots before all the tours came out for the day. It was definitely worth the early start, although the humidity also got up early. We came away with some beautiful shots.

Doing a shoot in Hoi An was something I had wanted to do for a long time and I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to do it with. Honestly, I still feel a jolt of joy looking at the colors and the scenery of Hoi An in these photos. What a beautiful place! Hopefully I’ll be back soon.
